The Rijk Zwaan West African Field Days, held on September 9–10, 2025, in Cotonou, Benin, brought together growers, farmers, and agricultural experts to showcase innovative vegetable seed varieties and promote sustainable farming solutions.
Fresh Logistics’ Enterprise Development Managers, Mr. Kelvin Essuman Quansah and Mr. Francis Tettey, attended the event and gained valuable insights into modern agricultural practices that will further strengthen their expertise and improve production outcomes.
Over the two days, participants explored a wide range of seed varieties suitable for both open-field and greenhouse cultivation, including tomatoes, habanero, bell pepper, watermelon, eggplant, lettuce, and cabbage. Experts stressed the importance of seasonality, nutrient requirements, and market demand in ensuring successful production.
The sessions provided participants with practical knowledge to make data-driven decisions that can improve crop yields, enhance quality, and align production with market needs.
For the Fresh Logistics team, the event offered more than just exposure to new varieties. It was an opportunity to learn how innovative seed technologies and sustainable agricultural practices can optimize production processes, reduce costs, and boost profitability. The gathering also created space for networking and collaboration.
