Agri-Impact Limited is leading a multi-partner consortium to implement a 4-year agriculture /agribusiness initiative christened Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity for Youth (HAPPY). The inclusive multi-disciplinary interventions to be rolled out is expected to drive shared prosperity in Ghana by creating, sustaining, or improving 320,000 dignified and fulfilling work opportunities for economically disadvantaged youth (70% women) and differently abled persons in selected communities across 10 regions. The project targets to increase production and productivity of rice, soyabean and tomatoes by 250,000MT and poultry by 13,000MT in four years generating over $300 million annually after 2028.

HAPPY is ambitious and transformational in its focus on attracting and capacitating the unemployed and disadvantaged youth into agriculture not only to help speed up the rate of growth in the targeted value chains, but also contribute meaningfully to the problem of youth unemployment and poverty relief for their households and communities. HAPPY will focus on improvement in primary and secondary value addition, enterprise and business development services, SME support, sustained market access, job facilitation and placement. The project will leverage technology and climate smart adaptation strategies and ensure inclusive utilisation.

Job summary

The Information and Knowledge Officer will be responsible for managing and organizing project-related information and knowledge resources of an inclusive multi-partner consortium implementation of a 4-year "Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity (HAPPY)" project that aims to increase agricultural productivity, value addition and create 320,000 jobs for youth and women along 4 agricultural value chain.

He/She will document, synthesize and analyse system change such as relationships and connections that strengthens linkages, resource flow and impact on the project, practices that create social barriers to productivity and changing perceptions of youth about agriculture and adjacent sectors.

The Information and Knowledge Officer will implement knowledge management strategies, facilitate knowledge sharing events; document, synthesize and analyze agri-systems change and provide information critical for project success, replication and scaling.

Roles and responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement information and knowledge management strategies and systems for the project.
  2. Collect, organize, and maintain project-related information, documents, and data in a centralized repository.
  3. Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely availability of project information to support decision-making and reporting.
  4. Design and maintain project databases, knowledge sharing platforms, and information management tools.
  5. Develop and implement processes and procedures for capturing, documenting, and sharing project lessons learned, best practices, and success stories.
  6. Collaborate with project team members to identify and document project-specific knowledge and expertise.
  7. Analyse and interpret project data, identifying trends, patterns, and insights to inform project planning and decision-making.
  8. Support the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation systems to track project progress and outcomes.
  9.  Coordinate and facilitate knowledge sharing and learning events, such as workshops, trainings, and communities of practice.
  10.  Provide training and guidance to project team members on information and knowledge management practices and tools.
  11. Stay updated with emerging trends and technologies in information and knowledge management, recommending improvements and innovations.
  12. Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and confidentiality policies and regulations.
Required skills or experience
  1. MA or BA Information and Knowledge Management or related field. Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Knowledge Manager - CKM) is a plus.
  2. Proven experience in information and knowledge management of a related agricultural project or similar organisation.
  3. Strong understanding of information and knowledge management principles, processes, and best practices.
  4. Familiarity with information management software, databases, and collaboration tools.
  5. Excellent organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  7. Proficiency in data analysis and visualisation tools.
  8. Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  9. Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation principles and practices.
  10. Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
  11. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  12. Knowledge of relevant data protection and confidentiality regulations
