A comprehensive training session on meat processing, food safety, and biosecurity was held at the Aglow Poultry Processing Facility for participants of the HAPPY Broiler Project. The training aimed to equip them with scientific knowledge and skills essential for their roles within the facility.

A total of 108 participants attended, consisting of 44 males (41%) and 64 females (59%), including 29 hearing-impaired individuals. While many were already familiar with the practical aspects of meat processing, the training introduced them to the scientific principles underlying their work.

The training was led by Dr. Dennis Owusu Adjei, Poultry Lead, alongside Mr. Ricky Aboagye Poku, Assistant Project Lead. They were supported by resource persons Mr. Dominic Nzoley and Mr. Maccharthy Vuvor, who provided valuable insights and expertise.

Key areas covered included meat handling, packaging, food safety, and biosecurity. Participants learned best practices to maintain high safety standards while improving efficiency in poultry processing.

The HAPPY Broiler Project is part of the HAPPY (Harnessing Agriculture Productivity and Prosperity for Youth) Program, a partnership between the Mastercard Foundation and Agri-Impact Limited, implemented by a consortium of eight partners.
