Agri-Impact Limited held its 2024 Quarter 4 Partners Meeting on the HAPPY Program at the Fiesta Royale Hotel in Accra on Monday, October 7, 2024.
Leaders from all the implementing partners of the Harnessing Agricultural Productivity and Prosperity for Youth (HAPPY) Program, which began in December 2023, were in attendance.
The HAPPY Program, a partnership between the Mastercard Foundation and Agri-Impact Limited, aims to create 326,000 dignified jobs for Ghanaian youth, with a focus on young women and persons with disabilities in the agricultural sector. The program targets youth aged 15-35, working to boost productivity in the rice, soy, tomato, and poultry value chains.
Eight organizations are currently implementing the program, including Newage Agric Solutions, the National Service Scheme (NSS), Ghana CARES (MiDA), the Ghana Enterprises Agency (GEA), the Ministry of Food and Agriculture (MOFA), TechnoServe, Catholic Relief Services (CRS), and Jobberman.
In its first year, over 90,000 individuals have already been brought on board.
The meeting provided an opportunity for representatives from the Mastercard Foundation, Agri-Impact Limited, and the various partners to review the first year’s progress and strategize for achieving targets in the second year of the Program.
