Agri-impact consult imported and installed 12 greenhouse structures, and provided services through engaging, selecting and training interested farmers in the 6 coastal districts in the Western region on the cultivation and maintaining of vegetable farms in the greenhouses.

AIC spearheaded the stakeholder engagement exercise in gathering training database on choice of interested project communities, project beneficiaries, size of farms, key stakeholders such as government organizations and civil society and their roles, responsibilities, needs and training modules to implement and establish a baseline benchmark reference.

Additionally, AIC built the capacity of selected groups in the construction and maintenance of greenhouse/animal husbandry structures. Twelve (12) households were trained to directly benefit from IMO technology and production of pigs.

  • A total of 144 trainee beneficiaries with 108 directly involved in the production of pigs and vegetables was achieved. Produce of farmers linked to market generated annual household income of $3,480 and $2,209 for vegetables and piggery respectively.
  • Capacity of farmers were built in identifying groups in the production and maintenance of vegetables and piggery farms through the greenhouse/IMO technology.
