As part of this initiative, Sena Kofi Asare, Value Chain and Enterprise Development Coordinator at Agri-Impact Limited, is currently in Israel as one of two Ghanaian participants selected for the prestigious "Intensive Vegetable Production in Arid and Semi-Arid Conditions" training.

Organized by MASHAV, Israel’s Agency for International Development Cooperation under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the two-week training is taking place from March 24 to April 4, 2025, in Shefayim, Israel. 

The program brings together agribusiness professionals, farmers, and agricultural experts from 21 countries to explore advanced technologies and sustainable practices in vegetable production under challenging climatic conditions.

The program covers a wide range of critical topics, including vegetable sector organization and strategies, open-field and protected cropping systems, plasticulture and climate control, integrated pest management, irrigation and fertigation in arid regions, research, extension services, and post-harvest technology.

In addition to classroom sessions, participants will engage in practical field demonstrations, networking opportunities, and knowledge-sharing platforms to enhance food security, strengthen agribusiness, and foster international collaboration.

Despite its arid conditions, Israel has emerged as a global leader in agricultural technology, pioneering advancements in irrigation, fertigation, climate control, and pest management. This training offers participants firsthand exposure to cutting-edge Israeli innovations, equipping them with practical skills to implement sustainable agricultural techniques in their home countries.
