Youth constitute 36% of 32.5 million people in Ghana. The youth population in Africa is projected to reach 42% of global population by 2030 (World Economic Forum). Despite the challenges of unfavourable land tenure systems, limited technical capacity, erratic climate and inadequate financing, the agriculture sector offers huge opportunities to create decent and sustainable jobs for youth, women and differently able persons.

According to Ghana Statistical Service (2021) the Agriculture Sector contributed 30% of export earnings and 38% of employment which is second largest after the Services Sector.

The upcoming project intends to reduce the food import bill, attract youth, women and differently abled persons into the Agricultural sector by harnessing opportunities in production expansion and jobs as well as providing both technical and financial support for youth led enterprises to thrive.
